About Me.

So why Chef Roommate? I’m not a chef or even a sous chef. I haven’t had any formal culinary training and the last cooking class I took was home ec in 7th grade. So why would I have the audacity to call myself a chef? Well I’ll tell you.

Chef Roommate is a nickname given to me by my current roommate that spawned from how often she would come home to find me cooking or baking. I’ve sort of always been the chef roommate; cooking meals for myself and whoever I lived with, making up recipes, and feeding people have always brought me great joy. It wasn’t until recently though that I was bestowed with such an honorable title.

My love for cooking and especially baking came from my mom who cooked lots of quick, healthy, and inexpensive meals while I was growing up. She always said that anyone could learn to make a bean burrito or spaghetti and wanted me to be a self sufficient person. Over time I’ve learned to make more complex dishes but I’ve tried to stick to my roots and keep things easy, healthy, and inexpensive.

When I’m not playing chef roommate I’m a freelance graphic designer looking for full time employment. I figured that this slow time in my life was a great time to get really involved with blogging, which is something I’ve wanted to prioritize for a long time. I’m passionate about health and fitness and I try to work out 4-5 times a week. I’m also an avid crafter; I love to crochet and I would like to get back into sewing. I’m trying to learn to speak Spanish but I haven’t been very successful yet.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and taking to the time to read all of this!

xoxo,
Felicia

Two of my favorite things: biking and beer!
