The Best Breakfast in the World

28 Nov

Yesterday morning Michael woke up HUNGRY. This is rare for him, as it usually takes his stomach a little while to wake up, but since it was still early enough we decided to go out to breakfast. We’ve been wanting to try Snooze, a local chain with a location right near both of our apartments. The line is always out the door and we never really feel like waiting that long so we hoped it might be different since we would be getting there earlier.

Wrong. When we drove past there were easily 15 or 20 people waiting outside and since it was pretty cold yesterday we decided to pass yet again. I’ll be back for you, Snooze!

We decided just to go to Village Inn, nothing exciting, but on the way there we saw another restaurant called Le Peep that neither of us had ever been to. Michael wondered about the name since peep made him think of chickens and eggs and I realized I’d never seen them open at night. I did some fast googling on my phone and discovered Le Peep’s tagline is “The Best Breakfast in the World.” Sold.

Le Peep!

Their menu was filled with unique breakfast choices like eggs benedict with crab cakes, crepes, and scrambles as well as more traditional choices like oatmeal, pancakes, and french toast. I was torn between the Crabby Patty Benedict and the Mini Greek Goddess omelet and finally decided on the omelet because it came with their Peasant Potatoes.

An omelet fit for a goddess.

This egg white omelet was stuffed full (and topped with) spinach, artichoke hearts, and feta cheese. It originally came with tomatoes but I left them off because I’m not a fan. The potatoes were seasoned and super delicious. Even Michael liked them and he’s not a big fan of chunkier breakfast potatoes. “The Best Breakfast in the World” is a lot to live up to but this was definitely one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in Denver.

Mondo burrito.

Michael ordered the breakfast burrito which came with sausage, eggs, potatoes, and refried beans and was topped with pork green chili and cheese. It was seriously the size of his arm! He described the sausage as a maple breakfast sausage and said the chili was just spicy enough. He said it was good enough to rival his favorite breakfast burrito at Pete’s Kitchen, so that’s saying something!

Full and happy! And really bright.

After our breakfast we went downtown to H&M so Michael could look at their jackets and cheap t-shirts. He didn’t end up finding a jacket he liked and we ended up going to the Gap to get one he’d liked previously, but he did get 4 of their $5.95 crew neck shirts so it was a success! H&M just opened here a few weeks ago and it was still super busy so we got in and out pretty quick.

Hello lover.

I could seriously spend a fortune in that store buying scarves, accessories, and boot socks. I did well this time though and did not spend a single penny!
